Ceramic beads have been widely used in the field of surface treatment, and their unique properties make them an ideal choice for various processes.
One of the main applications of ceramic beads in surface treatment is sandblasting. Due to its high hardness and spherical shape, ceramic beads can effectively remove surface contaminants such as rust, paint, and oxide layers. When sandblasted onto the surface, ceramic beads will impact the surface with sufficient force to remove these unwanted materials, leaving a clean and smooth surface.
In addition to cleaning, ceramic beads can also be used to achieve specific surface smoothness. For example, it can be used to create matte or satin finishes on metal, plastic, and glass. By adjusting the pressure and duration of the sandblasting process, different degrees of surface roughness can be achieved. This is particularly useful in industries such as automotive and aerospace, where specific surface treatments are required for aesthetic or functional reasons.
Ceramic beads are also used in the deburring process. It can remove small burrs and sharp edges on machined parts, improving the safety and functionality of the components. The spherical shape of ceramic beads ensures that no additional damage is caused to the surface while removing burrs.
Another important application of surface treatment is to enhance the adhesion of coatings. By roughening the surface with ceramic beads, the surface area for coating adhesion can be increased. This leads to a stronger bond between the coating and substrate, improving the durability and lifespan of the coated product.
In summary, ceramic beads play a crucial role in the surface treatment process, enabling clean, smooth, and well coated surfaces in various industries.

4 .FEATURES (Difference between ceramic shot and cast steel shot)
1). Compared with cast steel shot peening, residual stress distributions induced by ceramic shot can be obtained in wider variation range.
2) The plastic deformation layer depths induced by ceramic shots are much lighter than thatof cast steel shot peening.
3) All the surface topographies induced by ceramic shots are much delicate/smooth that those of ceramic shots.
5 . APPLICATABLE
Deburring with sandblasting
Mechanical deburring process in which compressed air mixed with an abrasive is ejected toward the workpiece surface to wear away burrs.
The abrasive like ceramic beads or aluminum oxide grits together with compressed air is pushed through the blast nozzle to the workpiece. The high speed abrasive grains wear away the burrs. Most blasting techniques act as deburring methods.
