2, Select particle size based on the accuracy and efficiency requirements of the grinding task
The particle size of white corundum directly affects the grinding effect and needs to be matched according to the process of "coarse grinding semi fine grinding fine grinding ultra fine grinding":
-Coarse grinding (removing oxide skin, surface finishing): To quickly remove the surface layer of the material, choose coarse-grained white corundum (such as 8-46 mesh) with large particles and strong grinding force, suitable for initial grinding of castings and forgings (such as rough machining of machine tool beds).
-Semi precision grinding (reducing surface roughness): To balance efficiency and accuracy, choose medium grain white corundum (such as 60-120 mesh), which can be used for tool edge grinding and semi precision machining of bearing outer rings, reducing surface roughness to Ra3.2-Ra1.6.
-Precision Grinding (High Precision Surface Processing) * *: To control surface accuracy, select * * fine-grained white corundum * * (such as 150-240 mesh), suitable for precision grinding of mold cavities and gear tooth surfaces, with a surface roughness of Ra0.8-Ra0.4.
-Ultra precision grinding (mirror effect, nanometer level accuracy) * *: requires extremely high surface smoothness, choose * * micro powder grade white corundum * * (such as W20-W3.5), commonly used for optical glass polishing and sapphire substrate grinding, can achieve mirror effect below Ra0.1.

3, Adapt according to the type of grinding tool and working conditions
White corundum needs to be made into grinding wheels, grinding heads, sanding cloth and other grinding tools for use. The type and working conditions (equipment, environment) of the grinding tools should match the characteristics of white corundum:
-Grinding tool type :
-Grinding wheel: used for flat grinding, external grinding and other equipment, white corundum needs to be selected according to the grinding wheel binder (ceramic, resin, rubber) - Ceramic binder grinding wheels are suitable for high-temperature dry grinding, and can be selected as high-temperature resistant white corundum  (because ceramic binders have strong temperature resistance and match the high-temperature stability of white corundum); Resin bonded grinding wheels are suitable for wet grinding (cooling lubrication), and can be selected with ordinary white corundum  (resin has slightly lower temperature resistance, so there is no need to emphasize high temperature resistance).
-Sand cloth/sandpaper: used for manual polishing or surface grinding (such as pipes and irregular parts), it is necessary to choose white corundum with fiber bonding (strong particle adhesion, not easy to fall off), with a particle size mostly between 80 mesh and 240 mesh.
-Grinding powder: used for suspension grinding (such as metal polishing solution), it is necessary to select * * ultrafine white corundum micro powder * * (below W5), and control the uniformity of particle distribution (to avoid scratching by large particles).
-Operating conditions :
-High speed grinding (such as spindle speed ≥ 3000r/min): High strength white corundum * * (particle compressive strength ≥ 200MPa) should be selected to reduce abrasive cracking caused by centrifugal force (such as high-speed grinding on CNC grinders).
-Wet grinding (using coolant): If the coolant is alkaline (such as emulsion), ordinary white corundum (with good alkali resistance) can be selected; If it is an acidic coolant, it is necessary to confirm the acid stability of white corundum (high-purity white corundum has better acid resistance than low purity).
